Ethiopia — Yirgachefe, Gedeo | Grade 1 Natural | 86.75 pts | Single Producer: Gutu Bire Lansa This lot comes from Gutu Bire Lansa, a smallholder producer in the village of Tulise, Yirgachefe district, Gedeo zone, southern Ethiopia. Gutu and his family has farmed coffee for 25 years and has supplied export-grade lots for the past seven. His farm is shade-managed and intercropped with enset, and other crops with agronomic practices including composting, mulching, soil and water conservation, pruning, stumping, de-suckering and regular weeding. The offer is fully traceable to this single farm. Varietals include JARC 74110, Kurume and Wolisho. Full natural process, dried on 40 raised beds. Dried parchment is held in a ventilated 96 m² warehouse with cement flooring, stacked off the ground pending shipment. Quality profile. Ethiopia Grade 1. Cup score 86. Floral and coffee-blossom aromatics leading into mango and green mango, caramel, tropical fruit and lemon. Vibrant acidity, milky and juicy body, lingering finish.
